Ken Van Elslander has been named as the director of Brighton Hospita


Brighton, Mich. - Ken Van Elslander has been named as the director of Brighton Hospital, effective September 20. He has been an active member of Brighton’s Advisory Board and Marketing Committee and is a member of the newly constituted SJPHS Care Continuum Board. He takes over for Dan McCormick, who was serving as interim leader. He will return to his national healthcare consulting practice, the Chancellor Group, of Minnesota.
Van Elslander holds an undergraduate business degree from Central Michigan University has a graduate certificate in addiction studies and is completing a master’s degree in counseling from University of Detroit, Mercy. He was a member of the Brighton Board of Trustees until it dissolved and morphed into the Continuum Board.
Brighton Hospital, a member of St. John Providence Health System, was founded in 1950 and continues to be a standard-bearer and innovator in chemical dependency treatment based on the medical model and 12-step program participation. Brighton Hospital is fully licensed and accredited by the Joint Commission and is staffed by addiction-medicine physicians and addiction-credentialed clinicians.
